Volunteers and paid staff of the American Red Cross serve as caseworkers in order to provide our 24 hour non-stop military communication services. During business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) please call the chapter at 702-369-8541 and ask for a military caseworker. During non-business hours and on weekends and holidays, please call 1-800-951-5600.
What You Should Have When You Call
Please have the following information in hand when you call, as it will greatly help us deliver the message to the service member in the fastest manner. (If you don’t have this information, we may still be able to locate and deliver the message, but it will take more time).
Please provide the service member’s:
-
Social Security Number
-
Full military address (unit number, battalion, etc.)
-
Date of birth
-
Doctor/hospital/funeral home’s name, location, and phone number, with alternate numbers if possible. We will need to verify the situation with the doctor/caretaker directly.
Please note: The service member's commanding officer makes the decision as to whether the member has permission for emergency leave. The officer's decision regarding leave is based upon various factors including the nature of the emergency or other important issue and the verification that the event actually occurred or will happen.
